Elon Musk has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, and its CEO, Sam Altman, alleging that they have deviated from the startup’s original goal of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity and not for profit. Musk claimed that Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman initially approached him to establish an open-source, non-profit company, but since its inception in 2015, the startup has shifted its focus to generating revenue. Musk is seeking a court order for OpenAI to share its research and technology with the public and to prevent the company from using its assets, including the advanced AI model GPT-4, for financial gains. OpenAI, Microsoft, and Musk have not responded immediately to requests for comment from Reuters.
